An AFTERNOON of FLAMENCO PASSION! Milena Tejada:  RESCHEDULED! Saturday, November 24, Doors: 12:00 pm. Show: 2:00pm. Tickets: $20. With tapas, $25 (We are serving Tapas (Spanish appetisers) from !2:00pm on. This is for everyone but especially those who came to the suddenly and unexpectedly cancelled show last Saturday!)  Milena Tejada is a young, incredibly talented dancer tearing up the flamenco scene in Bolivia, Seville (Spain) and now Montreal where she is currently studying and living.  She has recently been nick-named la Tormentita (the little storm) for her powerful and relentless footwork and superb technique.
Dennis Duffin, guitarist, originally from Toronto and now based in Seville Spain, tours regularly with Fin de Fiesta Flamenco, is an original member of Toronto world music group Ventanas, and is known throughout flamenco circles in Canada and abroad. Dennis is presenting this current formation of super talented artists based out of Montreal. Rounding out the roster is Fin de Fiesta companion, Hanser Santos Gomez on Percussion and the infamous Caracolillo de Montreal singing.

In 2000, Emile was awarded Jazz Report Magazine’s Post Secondary Musician of the Year. He is also an honours graduate of Humber College’s Jazz Diploma Program. Emile keeps a busy touring schedule and is on the faculty at Humber College and Mohawk College. He is an in-demand session player and clinician.
In 2011 Émile released Storyline, his debut album and has performed and recorded with artists including Rik Emmett, Duke Robillard, Natalie McMaster, Don Thompson, Divine Brown, Sarah Slean, and The Tenors. He is also a guitarist for K. W Glee and Cyanide and Happiness.

Andrea Garofalo is an award-winning Italian Operatic Tenor, whose power and passion routinely bring the house down. As First Place Winner of the prestigious Canadian CHIN Classical Music Awards, Andrea enlisted in The Sistine Chapel Choir at The Vatican in Rome, where he earned the title of “The Golden Voice.” From there, he sang with Andrea Bocelli(!). He performed with the Hamilton Opera Company to great acclaim, in roles ranging from lyric to dramatic. Andrea sings his Pop to Opera© worldwide; he has made numerous recordings in Italian, Spanish, French, English, Latin and Hebrew. Les Stroud: Musician! Thursday, October 25. Doors: 7:30pm. Show: 8:00. Tickets: $30 / $25 students/seniors/un(der)waged.  A Canadian survival expert, filmmaker and musician best known as the creator, writer, producer, director, cameraman and host of the television series Survivorman, Les Stroud has made a powerful name in the world of documentary film making, indeed starting an entirely new genre of TV, yet he comes by his music honestly. Since the age of 14 Stroud has been writing songs and studying musically. By 23 his music was being shopped to the likes of Bruce Springsteen and he was a published songwriter. Taking a break from music to concentrate on outdoor adventure Stroud eventually returned to his first love. He wrote and recorded all through the inception and eventual success of filming the Survivorman TV series, which included releasing 4 CDs as well as performing hundreds of concerts.
He has been nicknamed the “Hendrix of harmonica” for good reason. It is said Les plays the ‘harp’ like he’s playing a guitar; watching him live is awe-inspiring. The Occasional Angels: Saturday, September 29. Doors: 7:30pm. Show: 8:00. Tickets: $20. Ottawa’s The Occasional Angels are returning to promote their third studio album ‘Angels In Exile’ plus new material destined for their fourth studio album ‘In The Hands of An Angel’. Last year’s sold-out show provided the Hamilton music scene with a first glance of an emerging Indie band featuring lead vocalist Cris Ruggiero and the song-writing of guitarist and founder David Hart. Jennifer Noble is known for powerful vocals, original songs, smart lyrics, and soulful, memorable melodies. She is a singer’s singer, with a wide vocal range and a deep understanding of the human condition in all its nuances.  Carole King meets Adele….
Songs Jennifer has co-written have garnered international songwriting contest nods and awards. As a recording artist, she has co-produced and released original music including “For As Long As We Both Shall Live” and “Joy”.  She wrote with and fronted the Foxrun Band and Three Stand Out,. She was a vocalist with Crazy Leggs, Feast of Friends, sang backup vocals with Liberty Silver, Coconut Groove and many others.  She is also currently working with several up-and-coming artists on brand new material for their projects.

Promise Made Promise Broken: A Basic Income Awareness Event · Hosted by This Mad Desire: Friday, September 28, Doors: 7:00pm. Show: 7:30. Hamilton had been the subject of a pilot project study on Universal Basic Income that had recently started and was expected to last three years. It was canceled almost as soon as it started by the newly-elected Government of Ontario leaving the many recipients who have signed lease agreements, started new businesses, and returned to school, etc. all out in the lurch.

The newest member Jessie Golem has become something of a poster child for the backlash in the media, having been featured in Huffington Post, CBC, and even the Toronto Sun!

Because we are all concerned about this, we have decided to host an evening with music, speakers, info, etc.

Euphonic: Friday, July 6. Doors: 7:30pm. Show: 8:00. Tickets: $20 / $15 students/seniors/un(der)waged. “Euphonic are Geoff Ball, Bob Wegner, and Vince Waters.  With cello, guitar, and drums they have created an eclectic sound of their own – a fusion of classical, Latin, folk, prog rock, ragtime, and jazz. They’ve been writing and playing music together for over a decade, and have finally managed to come together to compile an album’s worth of their original compositions. They are excited to finally be doing their album release show at the Pearl Company, where they will perform their album and more.”  Gary Santucci pulls out some chops and opens for them.
