A special event to commemorate the emergence, growth and beauty of the Under the Willows program. Under the Willows is an art-play-garden program for children in Hamilton that has taken root under the willows, behind the newly constructed Lynwood Hall Child and Family Centre.
Tickets for this event are $20 – $60 (sliding scale) and will be available at the door. Tax receipts will be available for purchase amounts above $20. Come take in a variety of performances by local artists, musicians and other performers. Purchase art inspired by the Willows experience. View video and photos of the program. Meet members of the extended Willows family. Eat yummy food and experience for yourself some of the magic that makes Under the Willows so special.
Under the Willows is an innovative outdoor art/music, gardening and play program for children with special needs and children from the community. It is a partnership project of Lynwood Hall Child and Family Centre, Interval House, and Niwasa Head Start.
Inspired by the Spiral Garden at Bloorview MacMillan Centre, Toronto – the “Under the Willows” summer program aims to bring together children from our community at large with emotionally challenged children. Together, with assistance from local artists, gardeners and educators, these children can explore the arts, drama and story telling within a context of their connection with each other and the earth; planting, caring for and harvesting the garden.
