The ARTBus Hamilton! Friday, June 6: We will continue to check out Hamilton’s unique and constantly evolving art scene.
Join Barbara Milne as the journey of the ARTBus Hamilton continues. Our usual fine evening is planned again for June 6; we will begin by checking out a segment of the exciting art scene on James North – at least 3 galleries – James North Gallery, you me gallery, and not sure yet… Next to the Carnegie Gallery in Dundas and then the very cool studios and gallery in the Oddfellows Hall also in Dundas. We leave from The Pearl Company at 16 Steven Street in Hamilton promptly at 7:00pm. Please arrive earlier and visit the gallery spaces on the second floor to confirm your ticket. There is plenty of free parking – just look for the guy in the neon vest. On our return around 9:30/10:00pm you are often welcome to join the musical event in progress and/or visit the galleries in The Pearl District.
Who and Why We Are…
Now in its 7th year, the bus has delivered thousands of arts enthusiasts to the door of local emerging galleries and studios. It has become one of the icons of the Hamilton visual arts scene. The recently renamed ‘ARTBus Hamilton’ continues to visit established galleries but also seeks new spaces and studios each month. Riders will enjoy an interactive experience including demonstrations, artist/curator talks and exposure to special media nights (such as photography, pottery, graffiti, fine craft and glass). We’ll have guest ‘on-board’ curators, join studio tours, find pop-up and unconventional spaces, and tailor evenings by request for groups. The Bus now travels on the first and third Friday evening of the month. ARTBus Hamilton continues to act as a ‘vehicle’ for the promotion of art; working to create a public appreciation of the contribution of fine art to our lives and the unique culture of Hamilton. We hope you join us!
