OFF THE RADAR: A documentary by Terry Asma, 2020 studios
Survival for Nicaragua’s poor means living and salvaging in garbage dumps, selling sex for pennies, or sniffing glue to relieve their hunger pangs. Aid organizations feed and educate the poorest to break the poverty cycle, but the living conditions of the country’s disenfranchised- mainly women and children – are rarely mentioned by our media. In 2008, Terry Asma visited Central America’s largest country to hear the stories that no-one wants to talk about it. Terry will be present at the film screening to answer questions.
RECYLCED LIFE: A documentary by Leslie Iwerks.
From the toxic depths of the largest landfill in Central America, the Guatemala City garbage dump, comes an inspiring story of the human spirit.
