Lisbie Rae of Village Theatre Waterdown sends this note: “I’m organizing a flashmob event in Hamilton and invite you to join our action as we demand a strong climate change agreement. It’s one of hundreds of rallies taking place on Monday, September 21st all across the world. A flash mob is a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual action for a brief time, and then quickly disperse. Ours is a Global Wake Up Call to Climate Change. Individuals will make their own way to the King and James entrance to Jackson Square, mingling with the shoppers and workers, trying to disappear into the crowd. September 4: Starting with Arts Hamilton and the Intolerant Gallery, we’ll next head to the McNaught / Arctic Experience Gallery and then to the Workers Arts and Heritage Centre. After that we take a trip out to the beautiful Sunrise Gallery and return via Gallery 435.
September 7: A Labour Day Art Bus heads out at 10 am to join the Labour Day Parade and then explore the Cuba/Hamilton Exchange art happenings at Dundurn Castle, the Griffin House and Fieldcote. Those who do not wish to join us for the parade can meet up with the bus at The Pearl Company at 12:15 pm or at Dundurn Castle (first stop) at 12:30. Call Barbara at 905-524-0606 to reserve. $15
