The Immigrant Culture and Art Association (ICAA) and The Pearl Company are pleased to present an exhibition of political cartoons by well-known Afghan-Canadian Cartoonist Hozhaber Shinwary. Hozhaber has been immersed in the ‘art of complaining’ and political cartooning in Afghanistan for a quarter of a century. He was the creator of the first animated cartoons in Afghanistan. Hozhaber Shinwary’s razor-sharp visualization of political and environmental issues is produced with intensely graphic images and symbols. His cartoons have been published in dozens of newspapers, magazines and websites.
Around 50 cartoons representing different periods of the artist’s life will be on display.
