Pearl Company News, Opus Mundi wrap-up
Pearl Company News!
The first Opus Mundi Festival, our Multi-Disciplinary Artistic Convergence at The Pearl Company (April 25 to May 4, 2008), has been a wonderful (not to mention exhausting) experience. Thanks to everyone who did get out to a show or two – or five – and for those that did not – you missed some magic! The music, dada dance, the puppet show, the Sudanese folk tale, Catherine Silverglen’s one-woman show, it was all magical.! We expect, however, to make this an annual event so next year….
This festival has been devoted to bringing established local artists together with the highly talented artists from other counties who have recently made their home in Hamilton. As Gary says “Hamilton is becoming a crossroads for world cultures; we need to embrace this and present it to audiences, so that the new becomes part of our shared experience.” And we will continue to do so!
